Vegan jello, a sweet vegan treat. It is soft and satisfying, as well as super easy to prepare. It is ready in 10 minutes with 3 ingredients!
You thought that it was impossible for vegan people to enjoy jello? Well, let me tell you I've tried a vegan jello recipe and I absolutely LOVE it! It is super simple and easy to make and it only requires 3 ingredients.
To make it you only need 10 minutes and its texture is just wonderful. This delicious treat is healthy, light, and sweet, perfect to enjoy with your kids or simply all by yourself!
How to make vegan jello
- Add all the ingredients to a saucepan and stir until well combined.
- Bring to a boil and stir frequently.
- Allow it to boil for 2 minutes.
- Pour the jello mixture into individual serving bowls or glasses.
- Refrigerate to set. It will take up to 2 hours to completely cool.
- Serve your vegan jello immediately.
Ingredients and tips
- Fruit juice: any type of fruit juice will do. You could also use half the amount of fruit juice, and half the amount of water.
- Agar powder: I’ve only tried this recipe with agar powder, not with agar flakes. If agar flakes are all you can find at your grocery store, follow the package instructions to know the amount of them you need for 2 cups of liquid (480 ml).
- Granulated sugar: sugar is optional, especially if you’re using only juice and not water. However, it tastes better if you add some sugar. Any type of sugar will do.
Is jello vegan?
No, the original one is not vegan, as it is made with animal-derived products. This plant-based version is equally delicious though!
