Ingredients and tips
- Homemade or store bought vegan pie crust.
- Granny Smith apples: this is my favorite type of apples to make this recipe, but use what you have on hand.
- Granulated sugar: feel free to use other types of sugar, like brown, coconut or cane sugar. Make sure the sugar you’re using is vegan.
- All-purpose flour: I’ve only made this vegan apple pie recipe using all-purpose flour, but I think you could also use a different type of flour like a gluten-free flour blend. However, you may need to adjust the amount of it.
- Coconut oil.
- Lemon juice.
- Ground cinnamon.
- Ground nutmeg.
- Salt: to make my pie I used iodized salt, but any kind of salt will do.
- Feel free to serve your apple pie with some other Thanksgiving recipes, such as vegan pot pie, vegan turkey, cranberry sauce, vegan eggnog, or mushroom Wellington.
Is apple pie vegan?
Apple pie doesn't tend to be vegan, as it usually contains eggs. However, I assure you that everyone will fall in love with this recipe because it's so delicious and worth trying!
Does apple pie need to be refrigerated?
It does not need to be refrigerated. You can store it at room temperature for up to 2 days! However, if you want to keep it for a longer period of time, cover and transfer it to the fridge for about 4-5 days.
