Ingredients

  • 1 pound potatoes or 2 potatoes (I used Yukon gold)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400ºF or 200ºC and line a baking sheet.
  • Wash and peel the potatoes.
  • Using a mandolin or a sharp knife, thinly slice the potatoes into 1/16-inch-thick pieces (about 1.5 mm).
  • Pat the potatoes dry to remove the excess moisture.
  • Add the potatoes to a mixing bowl along with the oil, and mix until well combined.
  • Place the potatoes in a single layer onto the lined baking sheet, and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, turn each chip and bake for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the chips are golden brown and appear crunchy. Keep an eye on the potatoes to make sure they don't brown and overcook.
  • Sprinkle the baked chips with salt to taste and let them cool for at least 5 min.
  • Serve your oven-baked potato chips with your favorite recipes.

Notes

  • To make these baked potato chips I used Yukon gold potatoes, but pretty much any type of potatoes will do (russet, Idaho, sweet).
  • Feel free to customize your oven-baked potato chips with your favorite kind of oil.
  • You can customize your baked potato chips with spices like ground black pepper, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, chicken seasoning, poultry seasoning, or even Italian seasoning. Add them before baking, along with the oil.
  • Nutritional info has been calculated using ⅛ teaspoon salt.
