This Vegan Apple Crumble comes together with just 8 ingredients. It’s super easy to make, with cinnamon apples and a buttery topping, making it the ultimate fall comfort dessert!
Preheat the oven to 350ºF (180ºC) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking dish.
In a large bowl, mix all the filling ingredients (apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt) until the apples are well coated. Pour this into the prepared baking dish.
In another bowl, combine the topping ingredients (flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt).
Use a pastry cutter or fork to cut the vegan butter into the dry mixture until it looks like coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples and bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the apples are soft, the filling is bubbly, and the topping is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for at least 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Chill The Butter: Make sure your vegan butter is cold before cutting it into the topping. This helps create a crisp, flaky texture.
Peel The Apples: Removing the skins gives a smoother texture. Cut into cubes to avoid uneven cooking and mushiness.
Even Apple Cubes: Cut the apples evenly to ensure they cook properly and don’t end up too soft or undercooked.
Watch The Topping: If the topping starts to brown too quickly, cover the dish loosely with foil for the last 10-15 minutes of baking.
Let It Sit Before Serving: Let the crumble sit for 10-15 minutes after baking. This allows the filling to set and makes it easier to serve.
