Nutella is so delicious, but is not healthy at all, it's full of white sugar, refined oil, additives and preservatives, so I made a healthier alternative that you can find in our 10 Easy Vegan Recipes e-Cookbook.
Today I wanna share with you this healthy homemade nutella which is even healthier because is oil-free and is made with maple syrup, roasted hazelnuts and raw cacao, so is a super nutritious spread. It's the better nutella I've ever tried!
Tips:
- I buy raw hazelnuts and I roast them, but you can use roasted hazelnuts if you want.
- Raw cacao is more nutritious because is unprocessed, but unweetened cocoa powder also works (although you'll need to add more because raw cacao has a more intense flavor).
- Use your favorite plant milk or water (I used oat milk, you can find the recipe in our free eCookbook).
- Feel free to use any other sweetener instead of the maple syrup, although maybe you'll need to add more liquid.

Hi Emma! I'm vegan, so I don't use honey, but you can use any other syrup or molasses instead of the maple syrup 🙂

Hi simpleveganblog,
I just made your recipe and the result is awesome; also since I didn't use raw cacao, I followed your advice to add more unsweetened cocoa.
I just have a question, am I supposed to keep it in the fridge and for how long will it last?
Thank you for this wonderfully healthy and delicious recipe.

Hi Onii-chan! I keep the nutella in the fridge. I thinks it can lasts for at least 3 or 4 days, but less than a week (I've always eaten the nutella in 2 or 3 days :P). Thanks a lot for your kind words!

Hi Iosune!
I made nutella for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was really pleased with the result. I have just a couple of questions. The recipe I followed said to remove the skins from the hazelnuts. Did you do this, and do you think it's necessary? Also, if you use water instead of plant-based milk do you think it will last for a long time without going bad? I used soy milk, and I struggled to finish it before it went off.

Hi Wendy! I don't remove the skins of the hazelnuts and the nutella tastes amazing. I don't think the nutella will last much longer if you use water instead of milk. Have a nice day!
