As I told you, I'm on an anti-Candida diet and my naturopath want me to eat 3 healthy foods every single day: sauerkraut, coconut oil and carob powder. I usually have my sauerkraut for dinner and I make an oatmeal or a smoothie using the other two ingredients. The smoothie is like this recipe, but it's made with coconut oil instead of the almond butter.
Almond butter is one of my favorite ingredients in the whole word, it's so nutritious and tastes amazing. I know it's not an inexpensive ingredient, at least here in Spain, but it's a healthy fat and has so much flavor, you just need to add a tiny amount of butter, so it's totally worth it!
Tips:
- You can use cocoa powder or raw cacao instead of the carob powder if you want.
- Feel free to use any leafy green, plant milk or add or remove any ingredient.
- Almond butter is optional. I usually add coconut oil, but there are so many nut butters you can use.
- I prefer cold smoothies, especially in summer, so I add cold milk or some ice cubes.

THIS IS AMAZING!!! I am following AIP and have been missing so many things, including chocolate. I’ve used carob in a few other things and was disappointed with the lack of flavor, but decided to give this a shot. I literally feel like I’m drinking a chocolate milkshake!!! Thank you SO MUCH!!!

We made this shake. It wasn't fabulous. A little above ok. But I will be making this probably several times a week because its quick and easy, good for you, has nothing in it I'm allergic to and makes me feel good when I drink it. So this little OK shake is a winner with me.

Hi Bonnie! Why was it just okay for you? If you tell me more, I could help you to make a great smoothie 🙂

Thank you for your reply. The flavor, but I have to say the more I've made this shake the more I like it. It kinda grows on me.

Gorgeous smoothie. I substituted the carob with cocoapowder. It was delicious and filling. Looking forward to having a batch stored for tomorrow morning! Really great for my bicycle practice ❤️
